The prize hasn’t yet been claimed, so go and check all your €20 notes right now!

Back at the beginning of September, Pablo Motos, the host of Antena 3’s popular Spanish TV series ‘El Hormiguero’ (The Anthill), introduced a €20 note into circulation, at the same time offering a €6,000 reward to whoever found it…

As a publicity stunt, the winning note – Serial Number: EA2081272879 – was used to pay for a meal at a bar in Villavieja in the province of Castellón, although by now of course it could be literally anywhere. Perhaps still in Spain, perhaps thousands of miles away…

The thing is though that the reward hasn’t yet been claimed – at least not so far as we know – and now the prize has been increased to €9,000.

Despite peering at the serial number of every €20 note that has passed through my hands these last few weeks, sadly I haven’t found it. Which means maybe you’ve got it?

So, go on… go and check all the €20 notes in your possession. Investigate the contents of your wallet or purse, your pockets and don’t forget to look down the back of the sofa, ‘cos imagine what you could do with the winnings. You could get a new kitchen, a family runaround, an unforgettable holiday… or, best of all, even reserve that fabulous sunshine home you’ve just seen on our website!

Seriously though, if you are lucky enough to have found that elusive €20 note, then here’s what you need to do to claim the prize: Whatsapp both a photo and a video of the note to ‘El Hormiguero’ on +34 674 012 847… and don’t forget, dear reader, where you heard it first!
