LOCATION The marina at Duquesa Port (Puerto de Duquesa) is situated midway between the popular resort of Estepona and the large modern marina at Sotogrande on the Southern coastline of the Costa del Sol. The port is arguably one of the prettiest in the area offering a mix of berths for both large and small craft, ranging from sport fishing vessels to large ocean going motor and sailing yachts, not forgetting the small local fishing fleet which can be found at the entrance of the marina. The port is overlooked by a variety of restaurants, bars, shops and clubs giving a fantastic choice for tourists and locals alike. The restaurants offer Spanish, English, Italian, Indian, Mexican and Chinese cuisines both quayside and at upper levels , where one can enjoy uninterrupted views across the marina to the Mediterranean and African coastline beyond. There are many bars in addition to 2 small supermarkets, several gift shops, hairdressers, nightclubs, newsagents and even a gymnasium with beauty salon, all within just a few hundred metres of each other and just a couple of minutes stroll to the Blue Flag Beaches where you can find a variety of beach bars commonly known as Chirinquitos. The port offers a variety of accommodation from studio apartments to large penthouses and in the close vicinity the choice is even greater with golf apartments, townhouses and large individual villas on offer. Just a five minute stroll along the promenade (Paseo) to the South of the port you encounter the small fishing enclave of Castillo famous for its Roman fishing town remains and the 18th century castle overlooking the sea, here you will find some excellent seafood restaurants. A ten minute walk to the North brings you to the seaside town of Sabinillas, a very traditional Spanish town with many more facilities for holiday makers. Here you will find larger supermarkets, banks and of course many tapas bars in addition to the popular beach with its long promenade where you can stroll around the weekly Friday Market or enjoy one of the many Summer Markets/Events that are hosted here throughout the holiday season.
