Chelsea captain John Terry celebrates title win in Puerto Banús

Captain, leader, legend: so runs the banner at Stamford Bridge, home of English Premier League champions Chelsea, declaring the fans’ undying love for John Terry.

One could add to that list any number of indiscretions that the former England international has been connected with in recent years, but his taste in holiday destinations, at least, cannot be called into question after he was spotted last week living it up at La Sala, an exclusive nightspot of Puerto Banús…

Terry, 34, has just captained his club to another Premier League title, and jetted off to the Costa del Sol mere hours after scoring the first goal in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool last weekend.

Arriving with wife Toni Poole, the defender enjoyed two nights out in La Sala, having first made a quick stop in Dubai, where the footballer owns property.

Terry was in good hands at La Sala, where staff are well-versed in serving the famous faces of England’s elite football division. In recent months stars such as Harry Kane – the young England and Tottenham Hotspur striker – Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole have been spotted dining and drinking in the swanky establishment.

Previously, the venue has also played host to former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp as well as Aston Villa and Manchester United legend, Dwight Yorke.

With the Premier League season now over, regulars in Puerto Banús can expect to begin rubbing shoulders with the elite of UK football over the coming weeks as the pampered stars down tools for a few months, swapping training regimes and strict diets for pool parties and cocktails.

Well, they have the money, the free time and the knowledge that, in Puerto Banús at least, they’re in very good company…
