Valderrama Golf Club in Sotogrande was rated as the best course in Spain.

Golf lovers keen on buying a golfing property in Spain have even more reasons to choose the Costa del Sol after two of its courses were ranked first and second in a recent poll by golfing website Leading Courses…

Taking top spot for the second year running was Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande, with the Finca Cortesín golf club in Casares claiming second place.

The two courses were rated using the Leading Courses website’s simple algorithm, which is based on player feedback and overall experience.

The famous Valderrama improved its score this year, ranking an impressive 9.4 out of ten (up from 9.3 last year), with Finca Cortesín scoring 9.1 – the same score as last year, which was also enough to see it claim second place in 2014.

Although courses in Valencia and Majorca claimed third and fourth place, a handful of additional Costa del Sol courses made the top 50, including La Cala Golf, Marbella Club and Sotogrande’s La Reserva.

Many of the region’s leading courses are located within or nearby purpose-built residential complexes, with the Costa del Sol boasting one of the widest selections of golf properties in the world.

Prices for golfing property tend to be more stable than for other types of investment, making them an attractive option not only just for golf enthusiasts but any would-be homebuyer seeking a well-located, well-built home that is likely to prove a sound and profitable investment.
