The event promises to be an informative gathering for British expats

If you are a British expat living on the Costa del Sol and wish to find out exactly what types of services are available to you, then it would be advisable to attend an information day to be held this week in Estepona

On Thursday November 13, British expats are invited to the Palacio de Congresos in Estepona where the British Consulate – which is based in Málaga – will be holding a special event in conjunction with Estepona Town Hall.

The event is designed to inform Britons living on the Costa del Sol about what types of services are available to them, and where to access them. The purpose is to ensure that Brits are better informed of their rights as a British citizen abroad, as well as an opportunity for the local town hall to seek better engagement with Brits who live locally.

The British Consulate Málaga also sees this as an opportunity to pre-empt a number of enquiries, arming Brits with the information they need to live life to the fullest on the Costa del Sol. The Consulate handles thousands of enquiries every week from Brits living in Spain – to which the answers are usually relatively simple.

At the event, Brits will be informed about the Consulate’s Twitter feed, for example, which has daily updates of policy changes or any other news that is relevant to Brits living in Spain. Additionally, Estepona’s mayor José María García Urbano will be in attendance and speaking at the event.

There will also be guest speakers from the Guardia Civil, the national police, an English lawyer and a local funeral director. Afterwards, a question and answer session will take place, where audience members are invited to put their questions to the panel.

The event is free to join, so any British expats interested in attending should send an email to [email protected]
